The District Administration of Kayonza plans to extend Itorero ry’igihugu activities to the village level so that all residents get civic education.
This comes to life after it is realized some residents have not got chance to join Itorero as the concerned authorities in Kayonza district reveal.
Executive secretaries of all sectors that make Kayonza district were trained on the execution of Itorero at village levels.
Executive secretaries say if Itorero is implemented, Rwandese would value them and know the dos and don’ts of their culture.
Itorero ry’igihugu teaches Rwandan history before and after colonization where 1994 Tutsi genocide was the result of divide and rule system of administration by colonialists.
However, Alfred Dusingizumukiza, the executive secretary of Kabare sector says most Rwandese have not yet understood this history.
Dusingizumukiza hopes all the ignorance and bad mentalities will be erased with the introduction of Itorero at the village level reaching all residents.
