The president of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame has recently visited Nyagatare district during his trip in the eastern province where he asked leaders to put efforts they use in preparing his visit into other things that would develop the people and the district in general.
The president said this after finding that the whole district starting with where it borders with Kigali city to Nyagatare town was decorated with banana trees and welcoming posts and other actions that showed they were welcoming an unusual visitor.
“What is unusual in receiving the president of Rwanda in Rwanda?” the president said and reminded them that he is a Rwandan who decides to visit his fellow Rwandans and that there is nothing special about that.
He again told them that in uprooting banana trees was destroying their great purpose and the strength people used to uproot them, drag them and plant them on the streets would have been productive if it was used in something else.
He also warned leaders who fail to do services t the people and do it when they learn of his visit to be careful and that he gets to know what happens as people tell him about everything. He told them to always own their responsibilities and work as if they are doing it for themselves and fulfill their responsibilities.
